Alex Pella is the second of four brothers, all of them professional sailors, and started sailing when he was only two years old onboard his family boat. He discovered his passion for sailing solo at the end of the 90’s while he was preparing two Spanish boats for the “Solitaire du Figaro”. He’s been a professional sailor for over ten years sailing solo and with fully crewed teams onboard Minis 650, Figaro, Class 40, IMOCA 60, ORMA 60 and IMS boats. He has taken part in several races like the Mini-Fastnet, Odysée d’Ulysses, 1000 Miles Brittany Ferries or the Mare Nostrum.

Alex is a complete sailor who prepared and qualified for the Transat 650 of 2003, 2005 and 2007 and also did the research of resources, partnership and finance for his project to take part in the Barcelona World Race 2007. Has the title of Yacht master Offshore RYA/MCA and in 2003 was chosen Spanish Sailor of the Year.
