After spending his entire childhood in the region of Morlaix, Jérémie Beyou now lives in Loctudy with Anna and Achille. The sea is a family affair for the Beyous. Jeremy learned his trade on optimist class boats and took part from an early age in his first optimist competitions followed by European competitions. At 18 years of age, he finished on the podium at the French Espoir de dériveur championship (Centerboard dinghy class competition). A member of the French Moth Europe team, he perfected his skills at the Pôle France de Brest up to the age of 20. It was in 1995, at the age of 19, that Jérémie Beyou discovered the Figaro Bénéteau. In addition to his business studies at the ESC Brest, Jérémie Beyou trained at the Pôle France Finistère Course au Large in Port La Forêt. From his first year, when still only 20, he started taking part in the Solitaire du Figaro single-handed challenge. He was ranked, and has remained, among the top ten in the French Single-handed Championship since 1998.

In 2000, he took part in the AG2R Transat with Pascal Bidegorry. The two friends came 3rd and Jeremy worked his way up to 4th place in the French Single-handed Championship. 2002 saw recognition and success. DELTA DORE chose Jérémie Beyou to lead its sailing sponsorship campaigns. The new DELTA DORE skipper won the Mediterranean Generali and became the French Champion for single-handed offshore racing. Jérémie experienced other craft in the 2003 season. He had still not tried his hand at the open 60-foot monohull. This experience was realized along with Vincent Riou who took him on board in the Transat Jacques Vabre on a PRB. He was one of the pillars of the series and monopolized the podium. Third in the Solitaire Afflelou Le Figaro, he rounded off the 2004 season by winning the title of French vice-champion for single-handed offshore racing.

2005 was a decisive year. While working on a 60-foot monohull project, Jeremy served as crewman and route planner for the Banque Populaire trimaran and also prepared for the Solitaire Afflelou Le Figaro. His victories in the Spi Ouest-France and the Generali Solo made him one of the favourites for the Single-handed challenge. This he duly won, together with the final single-handed challenge of the year, the Route du Ponant. He achieved the grand slam and won the title of French Champion for Single-handed Offshore racing for the second time. In addition to winning the Championship, Jérémie achieved what no other skipper had achieved before him: victory within a single year in all the single-handed challenges counting towards the French Championship. Jeremy’s perfect performance in the Figaro earned him the status of a capable sailor on the way to success. In addition he became Orma Champion on the Banque Populaire trimaran. The future looks rosy for Jérémie at 29 years of age. After nine seasons on the Figaro Bénéteau circuit, Jérémie Beyou is now preparing a project tailor-made to his abilities in the hope of finding a larger stage, that of the round-the-world Vendée Globe in 2008.
