About

Designed by the Owen Clarke Design Team, this boat was launched in 2003 and was known as Ecover up until 2007. The boat is now sailing under the colours of Central Lechera Asturiana.


History

It was on board this boat that Mike Golding won The Transat in 2004 and finished third in the 2004-2005 Vendée Globe. She finished second in the Calais Round Britain Race in 2005, and fourth in the 2005 Transat Jacques Vabre in the company of Dominique Wavre, before winning the SNSM Record in 2006. Then, the boat became Mutua Madrileña and finished in fourth place  in the 2007-2008 Barcelona World Race, with on board Javier Sanso and Pachi Rivero. Sailed by the Spaniard, Juan Merediz, she finished seventh in the first Round Spain Sailing Race.

About the Skipper

Juan Merediz has acquired a lot of experience in the national circuit aboard cruising yachts and small boats. As for his experience of ocean sailing, he took part in the 1995 Mini Transat and finished as second rookie in the Solitaire du Figaro in 1997. He has also sailed around Spain five times and won the Gran Prix del Atlántico.
