At 0930 GMT, the Barcelona World Race / OSM stand presented the primary direction of the IMOCA class in terms of the racing for 2014.
Andor Serra, CEO of the FNOB (Barcelona Oceanic Navigation Foundation), Sir Keith Mills, Peter Bayer, respectively the founding President and Director of the OSM (Open Sports Management) and Luc Talbourdet, President of the IMOCA class, have revealed the new IMOCA OCEAN MASTERS world championship, a new brand whose main vocation is to promote the skippers and the class internationally. The principle behind such a circuit is to award a world champion title every two years. The year 2014 will be marked by the creation of a new race, the IMOCA OCEAN MASTERS NEW YORK TO BARCELONA, which will set sail from the United States on 1 June 2014. This double-handed transatlantic race will be the perfect preparation for the third edition of the Barcelona World Race, the start of which will take place on 31 December 2014.
