A dive for Cheminées Poujoulat’s race start

Bernard Stamm collides with a mark at the start.
4th this morning around ten miles shy of the boat MACIF (François Gabart & Michel Desjoyeaux), the current leader, Bernard Stamm & Philippe Legros had a tough start to the race yesterday aboard Cheminées Poujoulat. Covered by Jérémie Beyou and Christopher Pratt (Maître Coq) on the start line, they got too close to one of the start marks and got hooked around its mooring line. After several fruitless attempts to free the boat, the skipper had to resort todiving into the cold water to cut the rope before performing a 360° penalty turn as redress.
