Gybing war

Follow the arrival of the IMOCA 60 fleet in the Transat Jacques Vabre live via the cartography that went online this morning at 1030 GMT.
PRB can already be seen some 35 miles from the finish. The positions are updated every 5 minutes within a 15-mile radius. More than 15 miles out, the chart is updated every 30 minutes. In the wake of the likely winners, the merciless battle for second place between Maître CoQ and Safran has turned to the advantage of the faster Marc Guillemot and Pascal Bidegorry overnight. At the 0630 GMT ranking, Safran was positioned 14 miles ahead of Jérémie Beyou and Christopher Pratt some 150 miles from the finish. The gybe performed by PRB this morning shows that the approach to Itajaï will be more complicated than forecast. In an easterly wind of 13 to 18 knots, with the destination straight on their nose, the final promises to be exhausting for those who will make up the podium. The war of gybes is underway!
