Profile

Jean-Charles knows the IMOCA boats well as he has worked for many of them. First boat captain and then team manager of Antoine Cornic's IMOCA project based in La Rochelle, the two lifelong friends are embarking together on the 2021 Transat Jacques Vabre.

The two sailors finished twentieth in a race that was full of ups and downs. After having had to chase two killer whales off the rudders of their 60-foot boat and deal with torn sails for a large part of the race.

In 2023, Jean-Charles Luro will be back on board the IMOCA Human, ready to face a second double-handed transatlantic race.
