The European Pro Tour, is a new race between major cities around the coast of Europe and will be held every two years.  While the general public may read in the press about the boats sailing in major IMOCA shorthanded events, the Istanbul Europa Race will give many the opportunity to actually see the boats and the skippers who race them, when they visit their country.

The Istanbul Europa Race will raise media exposure of the class in the countries it visits, as well as being a platform to showcase the class. The race will also act as a tool to help local sailors in the countries the race visits, to attract their own sponsors enabling them to mount their own IMOCA campaigns.
