A sailor has left our midst… 13th May 2011
Hubert Desjoyeaux, creator and director of the CDK yard cast off for one last time yesterday morning.
After three months, his illness has carried him away to other horizons.
For the past 25 years Hubert has been at the helm of CDK Technologie; an entrepreneur, a project man and a technician with a close relationship to sailors, he has helped to develop our sport and our boats.
The person responsible for building Bagages Supérior, he shared Alain Gautier’s victory in the Vendée Globe 92/93, then that of PRB with Vincent Riou in 2005 and finally that of his brother Michel aboard Foncia in 2009.
Today the Imoca Class pays homage to him and offers its deepest sympathies to his family and to his friends.
His heart and soul live on in our hulls and will continue to circumnavigate the globe with us.
