About the Skipper

Bernard Stamm is amazing. His career has astonished all those around him as it is simply so unusual. A lumberjack, helmsman, mechanic… One by one, Bernard went through a whole range of jobs without ever doubting for a moment that he would achieve his dream of racing on the ocean. In 1994, he moved to the small fishing port of Lesconil in SW Brittany. He built a boat to take part in the Mini Transat and the rest of the mini circuit. The skipper and his prototype, designed by Pierre Rolland worked miracles. He made it on to all the podiums. The inhabitants of Lesconil were won over by this strange sailor with his Swiss mountain accent mixed in with their own.
