About
Designed by the Owen-Clarke Design team and launched in 2000 in New Zealand, Fòrum Marítim Català is Ellen MacArthur’s former Kingfisher. It was on board this boat that the British heroine took second place in the 2000-2001 Vendée Globe before winning the EDS Challenge in 2001 and the 2002 Route du Rhum. The boat was then decked out in the colours of Educacion Sin Fronteras for the first edition of the Barcelona World Race. In the hands of the Spanish sailor Albert Bargués and the young French woman, Servane Escoffier, the boat finished in fifth place.
History
For the second edition of the non-stop double-handed race, the boat was completely refitted and now includes the latest innovations from the IMOCA class.
