Profile

Annemieke became passionate about sailing at a young age. After racing single-handed in the Olympic Europe class, she raced in the Yngling class to represent the Netherlands at the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece.

Four years later she won the silver medal in women's match racing at the Olympic Games in Beijing. The desire to reach the top of the podium led her to participate in the Olympic Games for a third time in 2012, in London. In the end, the British sailor brought home a bronze medal.

She then decided to turn to ocean racing and in 2017, joined the Hong Kong team Team Sun Hung Kai/Scallywag for The Ocean Race (ex-Volvo Ocean Race). Four years later, she returned, this time in IMOCA, aboard Holcim-PRB.

In 2025, she rejoined the crew as a sailor for the Course des Caps – Boulogne-sur-Mer – Banque Populaire du Nord.
