Cador of the Mini class, with his victory in the 2019 edition of the Mini Transat, Ambrogio Beccaria alias Bogi is only just climbing the Class40 podiums with his boat launched in 2022. He enters the IMOCA Class by taking part in Leg 7 of The Ocean Race on Holcim-PRB.

Born in Milan and a graduate in naval engineering, he has been sailing since the age of 14. He learned to sail in Sardinia, moved on to Laser 4000 racing and offshore regattas in the Mediterranean, before discovering the Mini 6.50 in 2013. After standing out in the 2016 season and the 2017 Mini Transat, he became the first Italian to win the Mini Transat in 2019, aboard his Pogo3 Geomag.

Freshly launched, his Class40 Pirelli took 2nd place in the 2022 Route du Rhum behind Yoann Richomme, then in the Caribbean 600 and the Défi Atlantique. In June 2023, he won the CIC Normandy Channel Race with Kevin Bloch, just before joining Holcim-PRB.

In 2024, he launched his own IMOCA project, Allagrande Mapei Racing, in partnership with TR Racing. Thomas Ruyant joined him as co-skipper and mentor for The Ocean Race Europe and the Transat Café L’Or, aboard the IMOCA in which Thomas had just completed the Vendée Globe.
