Presentation

Groupe Dubreuil and Sébastien Simon announce the construction of a new foiling IMOCA for the 2028 Vendée Globe. Designed by naval architect Guillaume Verdier, this innovative monohull will be optimized for solo sailing, combining high performance, reliability, and ergonomics.

Its construction has been entrusted to the Carrington Boats yard in Southampton (UK), with a launch scheduled for August 2026 in Les Sables d’Olonne, ahead of a major first milestone: the Route du Rhum. The design of the new IMOCA has begun and has been entrusted to naval architect Guillaume Verdier—an obvious choice for Sébastien Simon, who aims to meet the goal of the new project: to aim even higher in the next edition of the solo round-the-world race. SCHEDULE: - From April 2025: design and construction - May 2026: delivery of the platform (hull, bulkheads, deck) to the Dubreuil Sailing Team yard in Les Sables d’Olonne - May – August 2026: installation of electronic systems, hydraulics, and deck hardware - June 2026: mast delivery - August 2026: launch of the Dubreuil Group’s new IMOCA - November 2026: Route du Rhum - November 2027: Transat Café de l’Or - November 2028: Vendée Globe - November 2028: Vendée Globe
