Born from the encounter between the IMOCA Class and the Lorient-based company Azimut, the Défi Azimut-Lorient Agglomération, an atypical ocean racing event, aims to combine performance, innovation and strategy. Sport at the highest level of competition on the water and a great deal of conviviality on land are the hallmarks of this event, which has been an undeniable success.

Each year, the program includes speed runs, a 48-hour race and a tour of Groix. A winning combo since the event grows every year and attracts more and more competitors.

In 2021, the Azimut-Lorient Azimut Challenge will enter in the IMOCA Globe Series Championship races (coefficient 1).
