Son of a certain Gildas Morvan, it was in the Abers region, where he grew up, that Gaston first sailed his Optimist. After studying Laser racing in Brest, he joined the Pôle France in La Rochelle and the French youth team. He won a European Cup in 2016 and finished 7th in the Laser World Championship the following year.
Son Wanting to see something different, Gaston applied for the Figaro CMB selection in 2018. He reached the final and lost to Tom Laperche. Two years later, the Breton sailor took part in the selection again and won! At the helm of Espoir, the sailor hit the mark in his first year by winning the Bizuth ranking in the Solitaire du Figaro. His results last season were just as promising, with a fine 5th place in the Solitaire and a podium finish in the French Elite Ocean Racing Championship. Gaston is now at the helm of the Performance boat and has big ambitions!
In 2025, Gaston joined the Association Petits Princes – Quéguiner IMOCA for the Course des Caps and the Rolex Fastnet Race. Later that summer, he competed in The Ocean Race Europe as a member of Team Paprec Arkéa.
The following year, Gaston joined Team DMG Mori Global One to compete in The Ocean Race Atlantic.
