DMG MORI GLOBAL ONE

The new IMOCA from the DMG MORI Sailing Team is envisioned as a true performance platform, capable of adapting to the demands of the world’s greatest offshore competitions. Designed to compete first in The Ocean Race 2027 with a crew, and then in the Vendée Globe 2028 single-handed, this boat embodies a modern approach to IMOCA design: versatility, robustness, and innovation. Conceived from the outset to meet the needs of these two very different racing formats, it will feature an evolving architecture allowing its performance to be optimized depending on its use. In crewed configuration, it will deliver power, stability, and the ability to sustain high speeds over long periods. In solo configuration, it will be adapted to ensure safety, reliability, and ease of handling for a skipper sailing alone across the oceans. The design has been entrusted to the team of naval architect Guillaume Verdier, renowned for its expertise behind some of the most competitive IMOCA yachts in today’s fleet. The boat will integrate the latest advances in aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and structural engineering to optimize both speed and resilience in the extreme conditions of round-the-world racing. Construction will be carried out by the Multiplast shipyard in Vannes, a long-standing partner of the team, ensuring a high level of precision and build quality. For skipper Kojiro Shiraishi, this project represents a major milestone: it is the first time the team has designed a fully bespoke boat, incorporating both its racing experience and future ambitions. The launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. Beyond pure performance, this new IMOCA symbolizes the DMG MORI Sailing Team’s long-term commitment to offshore racing, with a project focused on the future, innovation, and the transmission of knowledge to the next generation of sailors.
