IMOCA RACE REPORT #2 I Transat Jacques Vabre 2023
It's already been 3 days since the 60-foot fleet set sail. This Friday, Charal is leading the way down south, closely followed by rivals For People and Paprec Arkéa. The moment of decision is approaching for the 35 IMOCA boats still racing.
Martin Le Pape, co-skipper of Eric Bellion aboard Stand As One, explains this dilemma and the conditions that the two routes will offer the crews of the Transat Jacques Vabre.
In Lorient, the mood isn't quite there yet. Lazare, who returned to port on Thursday morning after colliding with an unidentified object on her way out of the English Channel, is busy on the quayside at the Base. Tanguy Le Turquais' objective: to get back out to sea as quickly as possible. There's a lot of damage to be done, but the team is pulling out all the stops to meet this major challenge.
