Mathis discovered sailing at a very young age alongside his father Yvan on their catamaran, before quickly moving towards competitive sailing in Nacra F20, ETF26, and Mini 6.50.
Since 2018, he has collected victories and records: European and Swiss champion in Nacra F20, winner of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud, Texel Race, and Raid Émeraude, and a triple world record holder in catamaran sailing with his father for the Mediterranean crossing.
In 2023, he reached a new milestone in Mini 6.50 with an SNSM record (Saint-Nazaire → Saint-Malo) and completed his first solo transatlantic crossing.
In 2025, he will compete in the Mini Transat, aiming for the podium while also preparing for a North Atlantic record attempt.
At the same time, he is joining the Swiss Offshore Team alongside Alan Roura and will be part of the Team Amaala crew for The Ocean Race Europe 2025.
