New Vendée Globe project for MACSF with skipper Corentin Horeau

The mutual insurance group MACSF continues its commitment to sailing with a new ambition, a new skipper, and a new boat.
Having participated in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 editions of the Vendée Globe, MACSF is now setting its sights on the 2028 race with skipper Corentin Horeau.
"Corentin Horeau is a skipper who reflects our values: humble, approachable, and ambitious. He is an extremely talented sailor and one of the rising stars in offshore racing in France. We are very proud to carry on this Vendée Globe project with him—a project closely followed by our employees and our community of healthcare professionals. This remarkable human and sporting adventure broadens our horizons and inspires us all to go further and achieve our best,"said Stéphane Dessirier, CEO of the MACSF Group.
MACSF is also acquiring the IMOCA Paprec Arkéa, one of the most competitive boats in its class, notably having finished second in the last Vendée Globe.
During the 2025 season, Corentin Horeau will be co-skipper alongside Yoann Richomme on this boat before racing under MACSF colors in 2026. He will begin earning points toward qualifying for the next Vendée Globe.
"Sailing the Vendée Globe is one of my biggest dreams, and I’m thrilled to join the MACSF Sailing Team to pursue that goal. I truly feel ready for this adventure. Thanks to the 2025 season as co-skipper on what will become the MACSF IMOCA, I’ll gain valuable experience and learn to master the boat. I’m convinced I can achieve great results," said Corentin Horeau.
This new chapter in sailing for MACSF continues the long-standing partnership of trust with Alain Gautier and his technical team, who will be responsible for preparing the boat and the upcoming races.
"I’m very pleased that MACSF is once again placing its trust in my team for the next four years. After several months of meetings and discussions to shape this 2028 Vendée Globe project, I’m confident in our decisions. This new boat is fast and versatile, with huge potential. Corentin already has an impressive track record and is a very promising IMOCA skipper. We’re excited to begin working together," said Alain Gautier, MACSF team manager.
Sailing and ocean racing have been part of MACSF’s story for nearly 50 years. "For us, sailing is more than just sports sponsorship—it’s a long-term commitment that aligns closely with our core values," concluded Stéphane Dessirier.
