Route : Competitors in the Barcelona World Race through almost all macro-climatic zones of the world, and meet some additional tactical challenges in the Mediterranean and during the passage of the Strait of Gibraltar.
Barcelona World Race
The Barcelona World Race is the one and only double-handed round the world yacht race (two skippers per boat). It is a race without stopovers, where outside assistance is permitted, but this is subject to regulations (penalties).

The Barcelona World Race 2014/15 is the third edition of the race. The first took place in 2007/08 and the second in 2010/11.

The race forms part of the IMOCA event schedule with a coefficient of 8 and it is organised by the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona. [Organisation]

The start will be held on 31 December 2014 opposite the Hotel W in the port of Barcelona. The front runners are due to finish in late March 2015.

The course sets out from and returns to Barcelona via the three capes – Good Hope, Leeuwin, Horn -, leaving Antarctica to starboard.
