Born into a Parisian family, there was nothing for Clarisse Crémer to pursue offshore racing. However, sailing, which has until now been a summer pastime for the young student, became a real passion and Clarisse accumulated the miles thanks to the support of partners.

Born into a Parisian family, there was nothing for Clarisse Crémer to pursue offshore racing. However, sailing, which has until now been a summer pastime for the young student, became a real passion and Clarisse accumulated the miles thanks to the support of partners.

In 2013, when she founded a start-up and lived in Paris, Clarisse decided in two months to change her life and move to Brittany in order to fulfill her desires and become a sailor. She shares her Mini 6.50 project on her social channels with naturalness and humor but Clarisse also works a lot to progress and it works. For her first participation, she finished 2nd of the Transat 6.50 2017 in the series boats category.

Today, Clarisse Crémer is joining the Banque Populaire Team, which is propelling her into the IMOCA Class and will participate in the 2020 Vendée Globe. What a huge challenge for the young woman who will this year have an excellent teacher in the person of Armel Le Cléac'h, also skipper of Team Banque Populaire an winner of the last Vendée. Together, they compete in the Transat Jacques Vabre aboard Banque Populaire X (the former SMA on board which Paul Meilhat won the last Route du Rhum).

For more than a year, the skipper has been working hard to gain confidence on her 60-foot boat in order to be ready for the start of the Vendée Globe.

On November 8, 2020, she set off on a round-the-world voyage and this was the beginning of a great and long discovery for the sailor. For 87 days, Clarisse overcame the difficulties and showed her fighting spirit and determination. She finished 12th in her first round-the-world race, the first woman in this edition, and she doesn't intend to stop there. A few weeks after the Vendée Globe, Clarisse and Banque Populaire announce that they are starting a new Vendée Globe campaign together.

Her sponsor Banque Populaire has announced the purchase of Charlie Dalin's IMOCA Apivia, 2nd in the 2020-21 Vendée Globe, which Clarisse will take the helm of following the return voyage of the Route du Rhum. However, Banque Populaire has decided to withdraw from the next edition of the famous round the world race.

Alex Thompson, known for his numerous Vendée Globe participations, then bought the IMOCA performer to house her in his British team and offered Clarisse, who was then supported by the cosmetics brand L'Occitane en Provence, to join his structure in order to race her second Vendée Globe in 2024.
