Halvard Mabire is one of the pioneers of ocean racing. In 1977, he was already on the podium in the very first edition of the Mini Transat. He then moved on to Figaro racing, with 7 "Solitaire" races (and 2 podiums) to his credit, and a string of transatlantic and round-the-world races.
45 years later, he has completed 5 round the world races (Whitbread Round the World Race), 7 Solitaires du Figaro, 32 transatlantic races (Ostar, Artémis Transat, Route du Rhum, double-handed transatlantic races, Twostar...): the equivalent of 18 circumnavigations. That's 450,000 miles of racing... and soon another 1000 with the Guyader Bermudes 1000 Race with Louis Duc!
