Originally from Bonn, the 34-year-old skipper set sail for the first time as a teenager. After completing his studies, he moved to Kiel to pursue his passion for sailing. At the age of 23, he was selected to join the German national team (Sailing Team Germany) in a program dedicated to young people. During his two years with the Sailing Team Germany, he took part in high-level regattas in the heart of the North and Baltic Seas.
He then joined several ORC projects and took part in several offshore sailing campaigns in races such as the Rolex Middle Sea Race in 2014. An edition marked by rough conditions that did not alter his passion for the open sea.
He studied agriculture and environmental sciences, with a focus on environmental protection. Today, alongside his passion for sailing, he has set up a company specializing in sustainable energy consultancy.
For the 2023 Transat Jacques Vabre, French skipper Fabrice Amedeo teamed up with German sailor Andreas Baden aboard his new IMOCA, Nexans – Art et Fenêtres.
In 2025, he returned to the IMOCA circuit, once again with Fabrice Amedeo, competing in the Course des Caps, the Défi Azimut, and the Transat Jacques Vabre, now renamed the Transat Café L'Or.
