Nico Lunven was hit by a jib sheet on Team Malizia last night as the fleet sailed away from Itajaí towards Newport in Leg 4 of The Ocean Race. He suffered minor cuts and abrasions to the face, has been consulted by a doctor and is fit to keep racing and taking his regular watch.
Nico has still been able to keep doing his routing through the night and commented: "I feel like a boxer who has lost a match but it is ok". Even with this incident Team Malizia has managed to hold on to third place through the night and is only 2.5nm behind the lead at the time of this publication.
