Originally from Concarneau, Martin Le Pape is a competitor at heart. 16-year-old French windsurfing vice-champion and 5th in the 2006 World Championships in Italy, the Breton sailor quickly turned to crewed racing.
In 2014, he discovered the Figaro Bénéteau 2 alongside Roland Jourdain in the Transat AG2R La Mondiale and quickly acquired a taste for the open sea. He launched his solo career the following year and was selected as Macif skipper two years later, in 2017.
After two fine seasons, marked in particular by his superb 7th place in the Solitaire URGO Le Figaro, Martin Le Pape has been renewed for another year in 2019 as part of the Skipper Macif programme.
In 2021, a new adventure awaits the sailor, who will be setting sail on the IMOCA Prysmian Group in the Transat Jacques Vabre.
After several races in the Class40 and Figaro classes, he will be setting sail on Holcim-PRB for a Leg between Aarhus and The Hague.
