Originally from Concarneau, Martin Le Pape is a competitor at heart. 16-year-old French windsurfing vice-champion and 5th in the 2006 World Championships in Italy, the Breton sailor quickly turned to crewed racing.
In 2014, he discovered the Figaro Bénéteau 2 alongside Roland Jourdain during the Transat AG2R La Mondiale and quickly developed a taste for offshore racing. The following year, he started sailing solo and was selected as Macif skipper two years later, in 2017.
After two great seasons, marked in particular by his superb 7th place in the Solitaire URGO Le Figaro, Martin Le Pape has been renewed for another year in 2019 as part of the Skipper Macif program.
This year, a new adventure awaits the sailor, who will set sail on the IMOCA Prysmian Group in the Transat Jacques Vabre.
