Profile

Pierre Brasseur is a seasoned sailor. A professional sailor, Pierre started his career as a skipper in the Mini 6.50 class and has a solid experience in many classes of boats such as Class 40, IMOCA and Ocean Fifty.

Capable of sailing and performing, the sailor notably won the 2015 Transat Jacques Vabre in Class40 with Yannick Bestaven.

After a successful first experience alongside Isabelle Joschke in the 2017 Transat Jacques Vabre - during which the pair finished a very fine eighth - the two skippers did not hesitate to renew the experience for the 2023 season: "I am really happy that Isabelle asked me to join her for this double-handed racing season. We have known each other for a long time and I really appreciate her way of sailing. We have the same vision of racing and performance. I know her boat well as we have already participated in the Transat Jacques Vabre in 2017. Isabelle sails really intelligently, her ninth place in the last Route du Rhum is proof of that. She knows where to place the cursor, she is committed and sailing with her will be a real pleasure", confides Pierre Brasseur.

On the strength of the confidence she gained during her previous collaboration with the skipper, Isabelle is looking forward to a return to sailing as a duo with enthusiasm: "Between our affinities and her experience, I think she is really the perfect teammate for me. I have very good memories of our Transat Jacques Vabre in 2017, we sailed with the same state of mind and I want to get back to that. Our tactical choices, the sequence of manoeuvres and the atmosphere on board were perfect."
